About Battery Storage for Business
UK specialists in behind-the-meter commercial battery storage. MCS-certified. Designed to the IET Code of Practice. IWA-backed.
Battery Storage for Business is the commercial energy-storage practice of an MCS-certified UK installer network. We do one thing: design, install, and optimise behind-the-meter battery energy storage systems (BESS) for businesses — manufacturers, cold stores, logistics depots, large offices, multi-site retail, EV fleet operators, and farms. Our team has worked in commercial renewables and electrical engineering since 2010, and moved deliberately into storage as the economics tipped from subsidy-dependent to genuinely commercial. Today, battery storage is where a UK business gets the clearest return on an energy-infrastructure pound — and it's all we focus on.
Why a storage specialist, not a general installer
Most installers treat a commercial battery like a big domestic one. That's where the money is lost. A commercial site is billed on the shape of its half-hourly demand — red-band DUoS, available-capacity (kVA) charges, peak unit rates — and a battery only pays if it's sized and controlled around that shape. We start every project by pulling a year of your half-hourly meter data and modelling the value streams that actually apply to your site: peak-shaving, arbitrage, solar self-consumption, backup, and grid-flexibility revenue. The proposal that follows is built on your numbers, not a showroom estimate, and it's fixed-price — what you sign is what you pay.
How we work
We're independent of any single battery manufacturer, so we specify the chemistry and the inverter/PCS that fit your duty cycle rather than the one we happen to stock. Every system is lithium iron phosphate (LFP) for thermal stability and cycle life, and every design follows the IET Code of Practice for Electrical Energy Storage Systems — with fire, ventilation, and separation designed in, and your insurer engaged before energisation, not after. We handle the G99 application and DNO liaison so the grid connection runs in parallel with the build, and where grid-flexibility revenue is worth pursuing, we set up the route to market through an aggregator. We share the full financial model — simple payback, IRR, and NPV — so any third party can check our maths.
Honest about the limits
Storage doesn't suit every site. If your load is flat, your tariff is fixed at a low rate, and you have no red-band exposure or solar to soak up, a battery may not pay back inside a sensible horizon — and we'll tell you that rather than sell you one. We'd rather walk away from a project that won't deliver than damage the track record that brings us the next one. That honesty, and the modelling behind it, is the whole reason technical buyers choose a specialist over a cold-caller.
